Rent a house in Provence

La Poste - Menerbes (Luberon) - 10 persons

The old post office in Menerbes has been transformed into a stunning and luxurious townhouse in one of the most beautiful and nicest villages in Luberon, Menerbes. It is this beautiful place, Peter Mayle describes in his famous book A year in Provence.

The house has 5 fantastic bedrooms and there is all the comfort you could wish for. As mentioned, it is a townhouse - but it is located on the outskirts of the city and there is a great view across the entire Luberon valley. Thus, all bedrooms and a couple of the 4 bathrooms also have views over the valley.

On the outskirts of the city - but with aronud one minute walk to the city's shops and restaurants, you can still call it centrally located.

During the warm months, guests have free access to the pool at a nearby hotel, five minutes drive away.

The house is 450 m2 large - and it is renovated and decorated in a quality one rarely sees. With natural consideration of the original qualities of the house, the owner has created a house beyond the usual.

The house has a large "inner courtyard", almost built into a rock, and there is of course also a large and spacious roof terrace where a pastis can be properly taken. Here is view to Gordes, Rousillon, Goult, Lumières - and Mt. Ventoux (you can see it in the background of the picture).

Inside is a decor, second to none. The owner, a successful London businessman, has restored the interior in a sophisticated and contemporary style that has been combined with and has enhanced the original architecture. Best of all, the design contributes to the light of Provence being allowed to bathe in the interior of the house.

There is the possibility of renting an adjoining room, bringing up to 12 beds in total. Contact us to hear more.

Why La Poste?

You should choose a stay at La Poste because the house is simply amazing. It is a very special house, built of the most delicious materials and decorated with style and elegance.

And then the house is situated in one of the most beautiful villages in Luberon. This means that you can combine living in a unique house to go shopping and buy today's newspaper and sit down at one of the small cafés with today's first café.

In Menerbes there are several cafes and restaurants. Café Veranda is a good eatery that can be recommended. When you are going to drive and visit all the other wonderful villages of the Luberon, you will soon encounter Lacoste and Bonnieux. Both cities have good eateries, but the one we want to emphasize here is mentioned above all for the view: go visit the Café de France in Lacoste. The food is average - but the view beyond the Luberon valley is formidable.

Another of the local villages you have to visit is Lourmarin. It is on the list of the most beautiful villages in France - and we understand it.
